Geneva Brown is Vice President of Corporate Impact for The Cigna Group, serving as Chief Sustainability & Inclusion Officer.
She is responsible for the shaping and executing on the Fortune 20 company’s business-aligned strategies to transform the health ecosystem into one that is well-functioning, sustainable, accessible, and equitable for all, which is inclusive of the company’s fair opportunity, environmental stewardship and inclusive workplace programs and practices.
In addition, Geneva is lead counsel and corporate secretary for The Cigna Group Foundation, supporting multimillion dollar grantmaking efforts. Previously, Geneva was senior legal counsel for a variety of business areas at Cigna, including corporate governance, shareholder engagement, M&A transactions and venture capital investments.
Before joining The Cigna Group, Geneva practiced law at Dechert LLP, and was federal law clerk for the Eastern District of Virginia. Geneva received her JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her Masters in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.
She is an Eisenhower Fellow who served in South Africa and Jordan working on wellness programs for children in underserved communities, and serves on the board of directors of The Urban League of Philadelphia, the Education Law Center and the Philadelphia Bar Association Business Law Section. She is also a limited partner in a venture capital firm funding female-led and -majority owned companies in most industry sectors.
