Skip Edmonds is an accomplished business leader with experience leading and growing Fortune 100 companies through business transformation in a rapidly changing environment. Skip has expertise and insights in corporate governance matters applicable to the financial services industry, banking, and the insurance sector.
Skip Edmonds serves on the board for the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professionals at the University of Hartford, where he is responsible for all aspects of the institution and the community they serve. Skip also serves as an adviser for profit and non-profit organizations to provide strategic direction, oversight, and sustained growth for those organizations.
Skip also served as the Global Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Compliance at LIMRA, LOMA, LL Global, Inc. LL Global is a worldwide research, consulting and professional development organization that provides compliance services and solutions to 1200 companies across 71 countries. Prior to that role, Skip held the position of Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for Prudential’s U.S. institutional businesses. He also held various senior executive roles at MassMutual, including Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer for MassMutual’s Retirement business and CCO for First Mercantile Trust Bank.
Skip is a nationally known executive leader and worked closely with Phyllis C. Borzi, former Assistant Secretary of Labor of the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) to conduct a series of public webinars for the industry on the Fiduciary Rule. He was a highlighted speaker and advocate for the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) national campaign on equal access to financial professionals to the underserved markets.
He was featured in Forbes magazine – “Diversity at the Top” and is a strong advocate on Diversity and Inclusion and regularly speaks on the importance of inclusion in our markets and in our local communities. He served as Keynote Speaker at Seton Hall Law School where he spoke about Diversity and Inclusion in the law and compliance professions. He also has a passion for financial education and overall wellness in the underserved communities. Skip is active in his local community, and in addition to serving on the board at University of Hartford, he is a former member of the Board of Directors for two non-profits (i.e., Achieve Hartford, and the Greater Hartford Arts Council). Skip holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Education, both from the University of Hartford. Skip also held his FINRA Registrations Series 7 and 24 from 2009 through 2019.
