Albert Abbey is a financial services executive leading enterprise-wide risk management and risk governance functions at VyStar Credit Union.
He currently serves as Senior Vice President and Head of Enterprise Risk Management, where he is driving business transformation through the modernization of risk infrastructure. In this role, he oversees enterprise risk, operational risk, model risk, data governance, and broader risk governance functions to support strategic execution and long-term institutional resilience.
Prior to joining VyStar, Albert served as Director of Enterprise Risk Management at Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, where he provided enterprise-wide risk oversight to ensure organizational safety and soundness. He also held fulfilling roles at USAA and Navy Federal Credit Union, gaining broad experience across multiple business units and risk domains.
Albert holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Knox College and an MBA from the University of West Florida. He is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), and a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP).
In addition to his professional work, Albert is passionate about economic empowerment and volunteers his time to initiatives that uplift underserved communities. He serves as vice chair of the Board of Directors at Pisgah International Development & Relief Services where he partners with management and the Board to guide the strategic initiatives of an international non-governmental organization to promote human-centered development in the Global South. He previously served on the board of a local PMI chapter and continues to actively support organizations aligned with his values.
