New York, NY — The BlackStars Awards Gala, an annual celebration of global Black excellence, is set to honor the world’s highest-ranking mathematician, Dr. Abdon Atangana, for his groundbreaking contributions to the field of mathematics and his influence on the global scientific community. The highly anticipated event will take place on November 8th in New York City, during the action-packed BlackStars Experience.

Dr. Abdon Atangana, a distinguished mathematician from Cameroon who is currently the Academic Head of Department and Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of the Free State, South Africa, has transformed the world of applied mathematics with his pioneering work in fractional calculus.

His innovative models have provided solutions to complex problems in engineering, physics, and hydrology, and are used worldwide to address real-world issues like groundwater movement, natural disasters, and infectious disease modeling. His prolific research output and impact on scientific knowledge have earned him global acclaim, cementing his position as a trailblazer in mathematics and a beacon of inspiration for young scientists across the world.

In 2023, Dr. Atangana was ranked number one in the world in mathematics, number 186 in the world in all fields, and number one in Africa in all fields, according to the Stanford University list of top 2% scientists in the world.
