Cheikhna Thiam is the Head of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance within the Data Governance Organization at Morgan Stanley. As the leader of the Artificial Intelligence Governance Program, Cheikhna oversees the establishment and maintenance of the Firm’s AI Oversight Framework.
Cheikhna works with all 3 lines of defense to identify and help mitigate regulatory and other risks associated with the use of the AI and Gen AI technologies by the Firm.
Before leading AI Governance, Cheikhna was the Head of Information Management Compliance, Cloud and Third-Party Oversight Compliance.
Prior to his current governance role, Cheikhna held several leadership roles in the Firm, including Head of Prime Brokerage Operations in the US, Global Head of Clearing Risk Management. Cheikhna was also Global Head of Product Change the Bank (CTB), where he led numerous technology related initiatives.
Cheikhna is a skilled Leader with over two decades of experience in Prime Brokerage, Fixed Income, Operations, Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance. Cheikhna’ s areas of expertise include running global teams and driving critical business, strategy, risk management initiatives across client facing and Infrastructure functions.
